Road Trip: 2017 Infiniti Q60 in Northern France

It’s an important tapestry, it’s emotional, and it’s one that we Canadians especially must not forget. Link to Story

2017 Jaguar XE 35t AWD R-Sport: Swinging for the fence

Horrible pun intended, the Brits are really on a roll right now. You have the Land Rover brand, whose latest Discovery SUV remains a capable off-roader, but one that is going where no Discovery really has before: the soft road, in a purposeful way with the ability to properly fit seven and with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a luxury SUV.

Big Guy, Small Car Test Drive: 2017 Toyota C-HR

It’s completely turned the brand on its head!

2017 Porsche 911 GTS, the Best Sports Car Out There?

Reno, NV – In the recent movie The Founder, which documents how milkshake-maker salesman Ray Kroc became the CEO of the most successful fast-food chain ever, there’s a clever scene showing how the original McDonald’s owners – Dick and Mac McDonald – developed their ultra-efficient kitchen. It all started by using an empty tennis court to draw a life-size floorplan of said kitchen, and actually having employees move about the schematic as if they were working.

Desert bangin' in the 2017 Ford Raptor

“Look out! I think they’ve spotted us!” Time to get a grip on the wheel, activate “Baja” mode, and give it hell. Link to Story

Comparison Test: Full-Size Luxury SUVs

Call them what you want to call them, big SUVs – the scourge of the roads for some, smooth, refined, regal rides for others – are a market segment that simply cannot be ignored. Even now, with gas prices at a premium (actually, scratch that one for the time being…) luxury manufacturers continue to persevere in this segment for fear of missing on all the well-to-do customers and car-service drivers that love these so much.

The Can’t Miss List: U.S. Route 66

Whether it be from films like Pixar’s Cars, through sociological and historic study or through an interest in Americana, you’ve probably heard of Route 66. “The Mother Road”, as it was called, connects Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA and is really the first interstate the US ever saw. Motorists were sick of arriving at state lines only to find that the road they were on would just end, because each state was responsible for their own highway network and they didn’t always talk to each other to make sure everything lined up.

2015 Ford Mustang: To the power of four

The last time Ford ran a turbocharged four-cylinder engine in their Mustang (labelled “SVO”), Lionel Ritchie, Patti Labelle and even Eddie Murphy—yes, THAT Eddie Murphy—were on the Billboard Top 100, Steve Jobs had just formed Pixar studios and the Chernobyl disaster was hot off the presses. Perhaps more applicable, when the SVO debuted, it had been just five years since the 1979 Oil Crisis following the Iranian Revolution.

Mazda MX-5: Still a driver's car, 25 years later

Better yet, there are fewer cars that have managed to stay so true to their original form after 25 years on the market. So, in light of the MX-5’s (neé Miata) Silver Jubilee, we took out a new one—in silver, at that—alongside an early example (chassis code: NA, followed by NB and the current NC) circa 1990, just the second year it was produced.

Mazda Adventure Rally 2014: Tale of the Dragon

As we mentioned in our 2014 Mazda Adventure Rally intro, in the days leading up to the event, drive partner Vincent and I did our darnedest to try and coerce Mazda into telling us where the rally would take place. Having failed that, we started to guess; Vermont, perhaps? The Green Mountains? Alligator Alley in Florida?

There are Cars and Coffee meets and show-and-shines—then there’s the All-British Field Meet. We've got some highlights from this year's show.

Dan Heyman

Dan Heyman's car enthusiasm probably came from Hot Wheels more than it did from the first car he owned (a basic-as-it-gets '92 Honda Civic LX sedan), but it's managed to help him craft the career of his dreams.

New car comparisons, old car comparisons, road trips, and of course, diecast cars--he's covered it all. Dan's work can be found on,, Wheels,ca, and more.

He currently resides and drives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
